Questions and answers

Everything important before you start

How the diagnostic works, what the readiness estimate means, where Proficiam fits alongside your existing materials, and what paid access does and does not promise.

Why Proficiam?

Progress should create clarity.

The name Proficiam comes from a Latin form of proficio: to advance or make progress. We read it as a simple commitment: I will make progress.

Read our story

Proficiam began when its founder, a finance professional preparing for the CFA exams, found no shortage of textbooks, mock exams, courses, videos, or question banks, but no clear view of whether all that work was creating exam readiness.

The platform turns each study result into a better next decision. One focused action, one useful result, and one updated estimate at a time.

Product fit

Where Proficiam sits in your preparation system.

What is Proficiam?

Proficiam is a readiness planning platform for CFA candidates. It works alongside the materials you already use, turns your study results into one clear next priority, and shows whether your current preparation is likely to reach passing range before exam day.

Does Proficiam replace my prep provider or CFA Institute materials?

No. Continue learning and practising with the official materials, question bank, or prep provider you prefer. Proficiam helps you decide where to focus and what your results mean for your exam readiness.

How is this different from a question bank?

A question bank gives you questions. Proficiam helps you decide which work matters next, records the result from whichever materials you use, and updates your weekly priorities and readiness timeline. It gives you one clear plan across your existing study tools.

Diagnostic and readiness estimate

What the free result means and how priorities are chosen.

What do I receive from the free diagnostic?

In about four minutes, you receive a starting readiness estimate, one clear study priority, a pass-ready estimate compared with your exam date, and a recommended approach. No account or credit card is required to see the result.

What does a readiness estimate mean?

It is a planning estimate based on your exam date, available study time, diagnostic answers, and scored results. It is not a pass probability or guarantee. The estimate starts broad and becomes more useful as you add relevant scores.

What if the estimate lands after my exam?

Proficiam says so plainly. If your current pass-ready estimate falls after the exam, the plan concentrates the remaining time on weaknesses you can still improve and checks the estimate again as scored results arrive. It does not promise that you will be ready for that sitting.

How does Proficiam decide what I should study next?

Proficiam combines your current topic readiness, CFA exam importance, available time, recent accuracy, confidence, timing, and reasons for missed questions. It shows both the next action and a simple explanation of why it comes first.

Using Proficiam

Recommended study approaches, result logging, and paid access.

What are the different recommended study plans?

They summarise the kind of help your current position needs; they are not different products or billing plans. Your paid plan determines how long you have access, while Proficiam updates the guidance as your results and exam timeline change.

Do I need to log every study session?

No. Log the results that tell you something useful: practice accuracy, confidence, time pressure, and why important questions were missed. Regular scored results make the estimate more reliable, but Proficiam is designed to reduce administrative work rather than create more of it.

What do I receive with paid access?

The readiness estimate from your diagnostic carries directly into the paid dashboard. You receive a prioritised weekly action plan, calendars for scheduled work and weekly readiness reviews, simple result logging, explanations of what changed, and a current readiness estimate against your exam date.

How do subscriptions renew and cancel?

Monthly and exam-cycle options are recurring subscriptions. You can cancel future renewals through your account billing controls or the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation stops future billing and access continues through the current paid period.

Is Proficiam affiliated with CFA Institute?
